Powder Coatings
Our powder coating system is of Swiss design, ensuring the highest possible quality available on the market today. To apply the powder to a metal object we use an electrostatic set-up. This passes a positive electric charge to the powder, which is then sprayed onto the grounded object. Once the powder has been applied it is cured in our 7 metre box oven, at a temperature of between 160OC and 220OC depending on the type of powder used.
Shot Blasting
To prepare objects for powder coating or wet painting, we propel an abrasive, under high pressure at the item. This gives a perfect surface roughness for perfect powder coating adhesion and removes surface contaminants, such as unwanted paint and debris. Minimal damage is achieved by using a slightly lower pressure than normal and various mediums such as copper slag, recycled crushed glass or garnet.
Wet Coatings
Wet coatings are applicable for most industrial finishing, from single coat 1k primers to multi-coat wet paint systems. We have wet painted various engineered products from the off-shore wind turbine sector to vehicle restoration projects. The colour range is as wide, if not wider than those available for powder coating.
Wheel Refurbishment
Wheel refurbishment starts with specialist paint removal and then blasting. The wheels are then re-faced (curb damage repaired), before continuing the process with a pre-heat treatment, primer being applied, then reheating prior to a top coat colour being applied. To finish off the process the wheels are then cured and a specialist polyester powder lacquer applied, giving a very high standard of finish.
